COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY
For nearly four decades, SST has developed some of the most admired multi-unit housing and commercial projects in the Bay Area. Beyond the assets on the balance sheet, the SST vision combines socially responsible sustainable growth with a commitment to people and community to the very fabric of the local communities by supporting a multitude of non-profits.
OFFER SUPPORT BEHIND THE SCENES
Through our members and their foundations, we’re proud to offer support behind the scenes to organizations and non-profits we believe in. These include a wide spectrum of affiliates, but all share a belief that by working together we can serve the greater good to the benefit of our communities. Many of SST’s residential properties were and are still made available to veterans, foster-youth, low income and Section 8 applicants.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
One of SST’s latest projects, rightfully one of the developments it is proudest of, is 915 Cayuga Avenue, also known as 1830 Alemany Avenue. This project is totally self-funded 116-unit residential development in San Francisco whereby SST has voluntarily offered 58 below market rate units and at least 5 market rate units to foster youth. This marks the first time that a developer has voluntarily chosen to give back to its community by building permanently below market rate units while standing 100% self-funded. This is by every measure a monumental development for the City.
